Cost of Web Design

In this day and age there are many options for designing your website. You can choose a cookie cutter template, pay a firm, or find a freelancer to design it for you. Each of these has their advantages and disadvantages.

With a cookie cutter template option you can easily find a vast amount of options that will suit your needs. However, once you purchase these templates, there is hardly any support. If you don't know cascading style sheets or HTML at all, you can find yourself struggling to get your site up and going. With most templates however, you can create a simple and, usually, clean look and feel, if you know what you are doing.

Hiring a larger firm to create your website can be very spendy. They have to charge for their overhead, which can include expensive buildings and extra staff. Their results are typically very favorable though. They can create specific designs and complete custom web applications because they have the resources on hand to do these tasks in house. If you have deep pockets and are willing to wade through the large firm headache, then pick these types of companies to create your website.

With freelancers it can be hit and miss. You can find a freelancer who really enjoys delivering a quality product. However, you can also run into someone who isn't motivated and doesn't deliver on what they promised. One advantage to freelancers is cost. They typically do not have the high overhead and aren't that expensive in turn.

At BDG Web Design we are a mix between a large firm and a freelancer. We can provide any functionality you need at a low cost. We can do this because we don't have the high overhead.
